“An answer to our prayers”

WE arrived safely in Bahir Dar on scenic Lake Tana in the Amhara Region, for what would be a historic day for its people, churches, pastors, and ultimately the kingdom.

One of the local pastors commented at day’s end, “We have been praying for this for years.  You (the team) are an answer to our prayers.”

Psalm 9:18 is the verse that goes before us throughout this adoption process and during our trip to Ethiopia.  This verse reflects the powerful hope for the poor, needy, and afflicted in Jesus.  Also, Proverbs 23:18-“There is surely  future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”

Currently 36,000 of a potential 11 million people in the Amhara region know this transformational HOPE. The plans that were discussed with local church leaders, Yoseph and Shimeles (Horn of Africa Evangelical Missions), brings great excitement and hope for this vastly unreached region of the world.  Praise to your sovereign grace, Lord, that you have orchestrated this very real and encouraging step to see change in the hearts of the hopelessly lost…for their HOPE will never be “cut off.”

After landing in Bahir Dar, we went to meet with the various church leaders from the Amhara Region. This is “God's thing to connect us in His time and for the sake of His Kingdom business.”(Shimeles’ quote in an email received since returning home!)
