From Dossier completion to when we first “met” the newest Bennett!

DSC00851 The checklist for our dossier was finally completed!  As we got placed on the “waitlist” we eagerly anticipated “THE CALL” from our caseworker with the words”We have a ____________to talk to you about.”

Until then…there was a lot of DSC00791summer fun to experience! Luke decided to rig the fan to the outside chair hammock, as he contemplated his summer activities. So much to do…so little time.

VBS,  “Out of Egypt” got the summer rolling!  Bekah and mom were home sick the whole DSC00806week, but the brothers had a great time!

DSC00813 It’s always fun to plant flowers!  This year we started a perennial garden hoping the crazy poison ivy wouldn’t come back and take over!

DSC00852 Family tradition took a different turn this year, as we sent the kid on a plane to meet grams, gramps, Jill and Terrie at the beach!  We’ve gone to Long Beach just about every year since we started our family.  My husband grew up going to the same beach each summer with his family. This was Luke’s first time flying!DSC00853DSC00860 DSC00859

Cousin Caty and her friend met the gang at the airport and they flew to NC together.beach 2010 bucket Going to The Marina and ordering THE BUCKET is always a big hit!  Next year we hope to have us all together again.  So grateful for the opportunity the kids had this year, but next summer, we hope to have the WHOLE FAMILY together!

DSC00780   I never thought I’d allow another “invited” rodent into our house. Meet George! Actually, he’s quite cute.  As long as we remember to twisty tie his cage door, George is welcome to stay with us.

While the kids were in NC and dad was in Utah at a YMCA convention, I dog (and bird and George…) sat. Aunt Terrie’s dog Ginger was trying to figure out what the little rodent in the cage was up to. She doesn’t have one of those at home and couldn’t figure out why George wouldn’t come out and play.DSC00882 DSC00887 Bailey Bennett was happy to have her cousin for the week! It gets lonely without all the kids in the house!

As we go through our daily life and annual activities, we eagerly anticipate sharing life with our new daughter/sister! More to come next time of our summer activities leading up to “THE CALL” when we first got introduced to the newest member of the Bennett Bunch!
