Grandpa carved his traditional pumpkin with the kids.
We took advantage of a beautiful afternoon and headed to a local park.
Watching Hermela play with this pump made me once again realize how thankful I am that she has clean water to drink, whenever she’s thirsty!
October is our two-birthday month.
Happy Birthday to Luke (9)
and Josh (18)!!
We took the church youth group to pack protein packs with Feed My Starving Children. Many of the students were amazed at the difference these packs have made to the starving children of the world. We were shown a picture of a malnourished little boy who had been fed the protein pack for six months. He was now thriving and had a chance to live!
Hermela really enjoyed her first year of soccer and can’t wait to play again next fall. Way to go, Hermela!
Luke had an awesome season too! Coach Bennett (AKA Dad) shared a few highlights with each of the players before giving them their awards.
Luke, you’ve come a long way since YOUR first season of soccer five seasons ago!
Dad was coaching you from the sidelines…especially when you didn’t really want to play and just wanted to go home! So great to see you enjoying the game so much now!
Mom got an early birthday gift! A weekend visit/get-a-way with some dear friends from Cincy! What a sweet time of fellowship with two wonderful couples.
We even went to the Ethiopian Restaurant!
Thanks Becky, Jill and Dick for all your planning to make this such a great weekend.
Halloween fun topped off October with the Jedi, the Princess and the Prairie Girl!
Hermela thought it was really great how you just knock on someone’s door and they give you candy! As long as she understands that you can’t just dress up and go knocking whenever your sweet tooth kicks in! :)
